Does anyone know where I can buy wooden slats plyable?

My son used it in a project at school. It was made of wood which could be softened in the microwave and bent to make all forms. When it cooled it hardened. Does anyone know what wood it is and where it can be purchased? Thank you!

Go down to your local craft store and Balso wood. It is super flexible.
