Homeschooling Vs. Public School Statistics

How soon can I begin homeschooling my child?

I did not send him to his public school today. I just found out his teacher verbally and physically assaulted him a few weeks ago, my son is ver afraid! His teacher has a huge political network, district didn’t demonstrate intentions to reprimand him, and I was threatened with a TRUANCY case if I didn’t send him back to school on Monday (today is Friday).

I searched nearby public AND private schools, nobody seems to have room for him in his current district or the 2 next districts. It seems like a nightmare. I started reading about homeschooling academic statistics vs statewide, homeschooling seems like a good option. How soon can I jump through hoops and get started? Kansas state.

And I heard of co-op homeschooling? Can I pay someone to teach him until I am legitimately able to homeschool?

Thanks…

Go to homeschool legal defense and check out your state laws. You may want to sign up for a year, so that you don’t end up with a truancy case.

In Kansas, you can be legal to homeschool in less than one hour. Go to the Kansas Department of Education website. click on parent, then on Nonaccredited Private School/Homeschooling. Fill out the form, make a copy before submitting (You must have a copy in your file), hit the submit button and you are legal. Kansas does not have required subjects, although it looks much better if you do use at least some books.

You may want to check with a homeschool academy if you have problems. Charity Christian Academy is in Kansas and not only assists homeschool parents who have chosen to enroll their children, but also helps homeschool parents get their children’s school records.
